A new vertical from The Closer Look Project

Our Mission

Our Core Values

A Closer Look at Geriatric Care empowers older adults and their caregivers with practical education, advocacy tools, and resources to navigate healthcare with confidence.

❋ Education

Understanding your health is the first step to protecting it.

❋ Advocacy

Every patient deserves to be heard, questioned, and taken seriously.

❋ Empowerment

Knowledge transforms caregivers and patients from passive recipients into active participants in care.

Why This Matters

When my grandfather moved in with me, he was experiencing dizziness multiple times a day. His doctors had never worked it up, never questioned his medications. Within two weeks of daily blood pressure checks, I discovered he was on BP medication he never needed — no one had ever confirmed he had hypertension. We discontinued it. The dizziness stopped completely.

Shortly after, at his first appointment with a new primary care provider, the intake nurse was dismissive of his concerns. If he had been alone, his pain would have gone unaddressed.

That dizziness could have caused a fall and a traumatic brain bleed. That dismissiveness could have led to reduced movement, pressure ulcers, and muscle loss.

He wasn't alone. But millions of older adults are.

That's why The Closer Look Project is expanding its mission — to take a closer look at the geriatric population, and to make sure no older adult faces the healthcare system without the tools, knowledge, and advocacy they deserve.
